Once a month we will be featuring one of our customers in an email about their health and fitness journey and life in general. This month we are featuring Jason Smith (photo in the Classic Black Tee and Performance Compression Shorts). 

Jason is from Adelaide, Australia and loves being active from Gym, Crossfit, Judo and Running. Jason is an inspiration to many and actively helps people get involved in health and fitness. Read Jason's journey below:  

Where are you from? 

Adelaide, South Australia

What got you started on your health and fitness journey?

I started weights training back in 2008 with the main goal of getting bigger and stronger!
I added Judo to my training a few years later before finding CrossFit and becoming hooked.
I started running in 2018 to get my fitness better for CrossFit but soon found I was enjoying the challenge and quickly got the running bug!

What tips do you have for someone who is just starting their journey?

Find something that you actually enjoy doing so that you feel like you want to do it and not have to do it!
Keep motivated by trying new things and surround yourself with other positive people!
Set goals and be accountable!

What are you daily habits that allow you to exercise and stay on track?

I think following similar people on Social media has a very positive impact on how I go about my training!
I also find by mixing up my training and also maintaining a fairly decent diet gives me the motivation to keep going day after day!

What are your 2019 health and fitness goals?

My goal for this year was to complete a marathon and then I added to that goal and set myself a time of under 4hrs. I completed it in 3:50!
The rest of the year I will continue entering local running events and attending parkruns, but I’ve also added Judo and some more gym sessions to my training aswell as already being a regular athlete at CrossFit 5000.

What do you think of the Maw Active gear?

The gear is in my regular rotation of gym apparel and is some of the best stuff I’ve found.
I also love what the brand stands for and has managed to bring together with the Maw Brothers Tribe

Who do you look up too in your health and fitness journey?

I follow a lot of YouTubers including Team Richey and Matt Does Fitness but I’m also inspired by close mates like Bill Kelly and Daniel Caple who are on their own fitness journeys and offer me support along the way! I also take inspiration from anyone that wants to better themselves and I always offer anyone that is interested to either come and run or train with me!

What adversity have you had to overcome to get to where you are?

I’ve been very lucky that apart from a knee injury during Judo training I have stayed very healthy with all the training I have done!
The only real adversity I have found is juggling my work life, relationships and training! Sometimes things get in the way of others but I have a supportive network around me so that helps to make everything happen!
